Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show. 9

Some small of the little ones. They get really covered in dirt.

This has a jet turbine engine in it. Thats the exhaust coming out the front.

I told this would be back. This is what the jet car is supposed to look like.
Just to finish it - one of the most awesome sunsets I've seen in a while.

When the big tructors pull, this guys sits on the sled and shifts the weight up the length of the sled. The idea is to continuously load the sled with more resistance to stop the tractors.

Count the exhausts, this is 3 V8s put together as one.

Even the primes get into it.

This has a real story to it. The driver is a female and she is very good. The story though is the setting up and return of it. Her partner (husband?) drives the tractor (I know, it looks like a Ford Escort) onto the track and hooks it up. He then gets out and she gets in. After the pull when it stops, she gets out and he gets in, uncouples it and drives it back to the paddock.
Apart from all that it is a really cool loking and well turned out machine.

There were smaller tractors.

This is a different one, it is called Rotary Hoe, and has twin Mazda rotary engines in it.

The entertainment started with some go-karts doing laps. This guys was very good and really had it sliding well. ther rest were a bit ordinary and kept missing the corners.

Then there was the Jet Car. He just couldn't get the afterburner to light and the hill opposite us got a cloud of smoke. You'll see what it is supposed to look like later.

While this was happening the Junior mini pull was happening. These are like super modified mowers, and I mean super modified.

Just to keep everyone entertained in between pulls we had a racing truck doing donuts and burn outs.

Pretty special paint jobs.

Only at a truck show do you get a modified mower set up to tow a BBQ and a drinks esky.

Not just out both sides but it has a door in the back too.

Chek this out, on the side on the sleeper you'll see it's called Super Mack.

And here is Super Mack. Yes it is in a Superman suit.

Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show. 1

This weekend Marcus and I went to the Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show. Tooradin is a little fishing village about an hour south east of Melbourne. It is an annual event and is very well organised. We spent a couple of hours there in the early afternoon before going back for the evening show. The truck show is a like any car show but with trucks. Some of them were awesome with fantastic paint jobs.
This one is purely because of the name on the side.

Membrey's had a whole series of trucks lined up and I couldn't help the artistic shot.
Seriously unbelievable paint jobs on some of these.
These guys have the engine anodised to match the trucks paint job.
