Marcus' Year 10 Formal Dance

Last night Marcus had his Yr 10 formal dance. For the last several weeks Marcus has been attending dance classes after school but at the school. Although it is a "formal" dance it is not a "suit" type formal. Just well dressed. Marcus stepped out in new pants and a new white shirt which he ironed himself. It only took him fifteen minutes. Another five minutes to shine his shoes and he was ready.

He looked pretty smart as you can see.

We picked up Maddie, his girlfriend and took them both to the dance. There was some drama when it was realised he had left the tickets at home, but mum and dad to the rescue and a quick 30 minute round trip we had the tickets back to him. So not too late.Anyway they had a good night.

The handsome couple.

Beaufort Again

For the June long weekend Donna and I left the boys to fend for themselves and head over to Beaufort again. We've decided we really like the caravan park there.

We thought we might try a spot of fishing this time but the weather was atrocious so stayed away from it. Ballarat is only 20 minutes away so we went for a look there. It has been a while.

Instead of fishing we just bummed around, took a couple of slow drives nowhere in particular and just enjoyed ourselves.  There are some great little towns around the area so it was interesting drives. There is a cafe (321 Cafe) that sells its' own cider (321 Cider). Amphitheatre is the home to Senses Ice Cream who also do awesome desserts (although Donna and I didn't partake) just drove by. As well as the only manufacture of hand made, hand painted fine bone china in Australia. This was a very small manufacturer but extraordinarily beautiful china. If you want something for a special occasion this it it. It's called Mt Lonarch Fine China and examples can be seen at the Mt Lonarch Gallery on the road between Beaufort and Amphitheatre.

On Sunday we headed into the Mt Buangor National Park as they had some falls I was interested in seeing and since it had been raining we thought they might be pretty good. It's a dirt road in but in good condition. It was worth the drive as the falls were flowing very well. Donna and I boht walked up for a look despite the weather. We both got some good shots of the falls. There are other walking tracks and lots of people obviously stay and do it.  Even though it was close to was freezing (6c) when we were there and wet there were campers on site. Amazing!

This is the falls as we saw them.
