Today we decided to just take it easy and not do much of anything. So we weren't for a walk around town and looked in all the little shops. They have quite a number of antique/ second hand shops. There is also the Imperial Egg Gallery and cafe. It houses the largest collection of Imperial eggs in Australia. These are eggs like the famous Faberge eggs. They have been carved and decorated in the same way but many with an Australian theme. They really are quite beautiful. Well worth a visit and they only ask a donation to look.
After staying at the park for the" paper boat races" which is now an annual event although numbers were down this year due to a lot of the local kids being away at other things. So we decided to go for a drive and see Lake Goldsmith and where they hold Australia's oldest stream rally. Lake Goldsmith is not real full as it seems to have missed a lot of the rain other areas got.
Driving past the steam rally location it is surprising just how big it must be. The site is a permanent one and it is huge. I've decided I want to come back to see it as there are some strange buildings one wheels with chimneys. I want to see if they move.
Dropped in on another winery just on the outskirts of Beaufort, Michael Unwin. Great reds and yummy fortifieds. I think I bought more with Donna there than I normally do on my own. She myself saying go on you like it, and she was right!
Back to the lake and home tomorrow. This is the view from the front of our van.
